Château de la Tour
Château de la Tour
The history of Château de la Tour, Clos de Vougeot
Château de la Tour, a certified organic vineyard since 1992, is a family estate steeped in history. It was built in 1890 by the ancestors of the Labet and Déchelette families, who have been established in the Burgundy vineyards since the 15th century.
Situated in the heart of the prestigious Côte de Nuits, Château de la Tour is the only château to be located within the Clos de Vougeot. Still owned by the same family, it handles the entire wine production process, from harvest to bottling.
In the 1930s, the estate began bottling its wines for the first time. However, in the decades that followed, the quality of the wines declined, until François Labet took over the reins of the family estate in 1986. Since then, under his enlightened leadership, Château de la Tour has regained its former splendor, positioning itself as one of the jewels of Burgundy viticulture, with a reputation for excellence that endures to this day.
