#PROPERTY: History & Terroir
The history of Château de Fieuzal
Since its establishment in the 12th century, Château de Fieuzal has written its name into the history of Pessac-Léognan, leaving an indelible mark on the region. Despite fluctuations due to the decline of the Fieuzal lineage, the estate passed through the ages, passing through the hands of various owners until the remarkable rise of the Ricard family, who elevated the estate to the enviable rank of Grand Cru des Graves.
From 2001, a new era of dynamism began under the passionate leadership of Irish couple Brenda and Locklann Quinn, who brought a modern vision to viticulture, marked by a relentless quest for quality and excellence. With the arrival of talents such as Stephan Carrière and the wise counsel of Hubert de Boüard, the estate is resolutely committed to innovation while preserving its traditional roots. The renovation efforts undertaken in 2011 marked a decisive turning point, propelling Château de Fieuzal to new heights of quality, embodying the very essence of wine-making craftsmanship in the prestigious Pessac-Léognan region.
