#PROPERTY: History & Terroir
History of Maison Jacquart
In 1964, Champagne JACQUART began its history by adopting the Pegasus as its emblem, a symbol of renown. Four years later, the company acquired the iconic Reims Mosaics location at 6, Rue de Mars, which has since become a central pillar of its identity.
Over the decades, significant milestones have marked its journey. In 1983, the launch of the first Blanc de Blancs Millésimé 1978 demonstrated the company's ability to create exceptional wines made exclusively from Chardonnay. The Mosaïque range followed in 1992, symbolizing the house's distinctive expertise. The arrival of talents such as Floriane Eznack as cellar master in 2011 and Joëlle Weiss as oenologist in 2020 has enriched the team, each bringing their expertise and commitment to maintaining the quality and excellence of Champagne JACQUART's cuvées, whose Alpha 2005 and Alpha Rosé 2010 have marked landmark moments in the world of wine, revealing an ongoing commitment to innovation and quality.
Champagne Jacquart's terroir in Reims
The vineyard chosen by Champagne Jacquart is a mosaic of over 60 crus, covering some 300 hectares, of the 150 that are vinified each year. This diversity of terroirs offers the house a varied palette of winemaking characteristics, enabling it to produce rich, nuanced cuvées.
#VINS DU DOMAINE : Appellations and Cuvées
The Champagne appellation
The "Champagne" appellation whose vineyards stretch across several départements, including Marne, Aube and others. This strictly regulated appellation is distinguished by the use of three main grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. These are carefully selected to create exceptional sparkling wines, made using the traditional method which involves a second fermentation in the bottle. This method gives Champagnes their distinctive effervescence. In addition, Champagnes are categorized according to their sugar content, ranging from Brut Nature to Doux.

- Champagne Jacquart Cuvée Alpha
Champagnes Jacquart Mosaïque and Cuvée Alpha are two distinct cuvées from the Jacquart house, each offering different characteristics and taste profiles:
Champagne Jacquart Mosaïque: This is an emblematic cuvée from the House of Jacquart, often considered their signature champagne. Mosaïque is made from a blend of traditional Champagne grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It is often characterized by its freshness, finesse, and balanced aromatic palette with notes of fresh fruit, sometimes slightly floral. This range includes :
- Champagne Jacquart Mosaïque Rosé
- Champagne Jacquart Mosaïque Brut
- Champagne Jacquart Mosaïque Demi-Sec
- Champagne Jacquart Mosaïque Extra-Brut
- Champagne Jacquart Mosaïque Signatures 5 ans d'âge
Champagne Jacquart Cuvée Alpha: Cuvée Alpha is a more upmarket expression of the Jacquart house, often made with a more precise selection of grapes or with specific vinification. It is generally the result of a quest for superior quality, with grapes often sourced from specific vineyards or from a particularly exceptional harvest. Cuvée Alpha may present more complex characteristics, a deeper structure, and more elaborate aromas thanks to longer aging on lees.
- Champagne Jacquart cuvée Alpha Blanc
- Champagne Jacquart cuvée Alpha Rosé
In summary, Mosaïque is often considered Jacquart's signature champagne, offering a fresh, balanced style, while Cuvée Alpha represents a more refined, high-end expression, with particular attention paid to grape quality and champagne-making.
