Ladoucette family, Château de Nozet
Since the late 18th century, the De Ladoucette family has owned the largest and most renowned vineyard in Pouilly Fumé, carrying on the name of the Comtes Lafond. Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, great-grandson of the Comtes Lafond, continues the tradition of the great white wines of Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre.
Baron de Ladoucette
Baron de L is considered one of the world's finest Sauvignon wines. It is matured on fine lees for 15 months before bottling. Its golden yellow color reveals aromas of honey, elderberry and pear, with hints of flint smoke. Long on the palate, with a blend of smoke, yellow fruit and candied lemon notes. An immense wine!
Domaine de Ladoucette terroir: Pouilly-Fumé
Famous for its exceptional dry white wines, Pouilly-Fumé seduces wine lovers the world over with its unique character, distinctive minerality and bewitching fruity aromas. Pouilly-Fumé is located near Nevers. The Pouilly-Fumé terroir is diverse, offering two distinct profiles.
The flinty soils give rise to structured wines, with a characteristic bouquet often described as "flinty". These wines, from "cris" areas where limestone abounds, seduce with their elegance and bewitching aromas. Conversely, wines from Kimmeridgian marl, impermeable limestone soils, are full-bodied and firm, reflecting the richness of the terroir.
Pouilly-Fumé's identity is revealed in its minerality. The unique soils give the wines a mineral imprint, evoking the region's distinctive terroir.
Close to Pouilly-sur-Loire and its wines, the region offers an idyllic setting for vineyards. The south-facing slopes benefit from generous sunshine, providing ideal conditions for ripening grapes, especially Sauvignon Blanc, which proudly dominates 95% of the vineyard.
Pouilly-Fumé's renown lies in its ability to combine tradition and innovation, offering wines of consistent quality that delight the most demanding palates.
