Fabien Coche Estate

#PROPERTY: History & Terroir

History of Domaine Fabien Coche

Formerly known as Coche-Bizouard, the story of Domaine Fabien Coche began with the arrival of fourth-generation winemaker Fabien Coche, who took over the reins of the family domaine in 2005. Coming from a prestigious line of Burgundy winemakers, Fabien quickly made his mark in the world of wine, becoming a key figure in regional viticulture.

The estate's origins date back to a time when the Coche-Dury family, headed by Fabien's cousin Raphaël, shared the same vineyard land. This ancestral tradition continued until 1940, when family developments led to the separation of the estates. Yet the close ties between the two families and their mutual influence in the world of wine have left an indelible mark on the Fabien Coche estate.

Fabien's professional career began alongside his father in 1998, providing him with a solid education and invaluable experience in all aspects of viticulture. After gradually assuming greater responsibilities within the estate, Fabien finally took over the management in 2005, marking the beginning of a new era for the family estate.

Under his leadership, the estate underwent a period of renewal, with the development of distinctive labels bearing his name. Guided by his commitment to quality and tradition, Fabien has breathed new energy into the estate, while preserving the family winegrowing heritage.

The Terroir of Domaine Fabien Coche

Located in Meursault, Côte d'or, in the heart of the Burgundy wine route, Domaine Fabien Coche benefits from an exceptional terroir, cultivating all the nobility of great Burgundy wines. The slopes of Meursault, facing east to the south of Beaune, offer a diversity of soils ranging from limestone to clay and marl. This unique combination, combined with the natural undulation of the slopes, creates a variety of microclimates, ideal for growing the Chardonnay grape. The white wines produced reflect the richness and complexity of this terroir, offering unforgettable flavors with every tasting.
